Your connection with SPA doesn't end at graduation. Volunteering at SPA is a wonderful way to reconnect with the School and share your expertise with current students. Alumni/ae are some of the School's most important volunteers: engaging with graduates helps students understand the possibilities and opportunities that await them after graduation.

Below are a number of ways that alumni/ae can volunteer at SPA:

The St. Paul Academy and Summit School Alumni/ae Council represents the alumni/ae body. The Council is made up of volunteers from across a variety of class years who are interested in supporting institutional excellence and promoting a strong sense of community and commitment to the school.  The Alumni/ae Council plans events, organizes alumni/ae volunteer opportunities, and assists with fundraising. Learn more about the Alumni/ae Council.

Class Agents keep in touch with their classmates, updating them on school information, their friends and upcoming events. All classes welcome additional volunteers. Learn more about Class Agents.

Alumni/ae Regional Captains

St. Paul Academy and Summit School’s Alumni/ae Regional Captain Program provides the opportunity for alumni/ae outside of the Twin Cities to connect in a particular city or region. Captains serve in variety of capacities that meet the needs of local alumni/ae, including welcoming new alumni to your region, aiding with events (when applicable) in your area, and collaborating with the Alumni/ae Council and Alumni/ae Office for local community engagement opportunities. Learn more about Alumni/ae Regional Captains.

Alumni/ae practice interviews help SPA students prepare for future college admission interviews or interviews with potential employers or senior project supervisors. Practice interviews are usually held at SPA during the school day and last 45 minutes. These practice interviews are critical opportunities for students to gain an important life skill and are a great way for alumni/ae to share their expertise. Practice interview questions can be found here.

All SPA alumni/ae are invited to consider supervising a Senior Project in their business, organization, or institution in during the month of May. The Senior Project is the capstone activity of the senior year at SPA; students design a month-long experience in a field that interests them professionally, and must identify a professional in that field to serve as a mentor/supervisor. For more information, visit the Senior Project webpage.

SPA's exceptionally strong debate team is always looking for judges during the fall season. No debate is experience is necessary and stipends may be provided. This is a great way to connect with one of SPA's most successful and popular student activities.

If you have questions about volunteering or would like to participate in one of these activities, contact Chris Jenkyns, Director of Alumni/ae Programs.
