On Thursday, February 21, Trojan boys' swimming and diving, a co-op between SPA and Highland Park, began section competition. After a successful conference meet where the team was named St. Paul Conference Champions for the fifth year in a row, the Trojans were excited to continue the postseason momentum.
The Section 6AA meet began on Thursday with the swimming prelims and then continued into the weekend with Diving prelims/finals on Friday and swimming finals on Saturday. Between prelims and finals, every Trojan student-athlete dropped time or improved their score and all in all, the team qualified for state in two individual races and two relays. Congratulations to Cesar Gallagher '20 who qualified for State in the 200 freestyle (4th place) and the 100 fly (2nd place), as well as the two qualifying relays: the 200 free (Noah Rice '20, Jacob (HP), Andrew (HP), and Cesar) and the 400 free (Noah, Jacob (HP), Parker Johnson (HP), and Cesar).
The MSHSL Class 2A Boys' Swimming and Diving Meet will take place Thursday, February 28 through Saturday, March 2. Class 2A swimming preliminaries are at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 1 and the Class 2A swimming and diving finals at 6 p.m. We hope you will join us at the Jean K.
