On December 15, boys' hockey matched up against Breck for their first conference game of the 2018-19 season. The team played well and ousted the Mustangs, 7-3.
The Spartans put together a solid 3-1 lead in the first two periods but were quickly equalized with when Breck put two quick goals in the back of the net in the first few minutes of the final period. With the game tied at 3-3, the Spartans knew they needed to step up their game. The team stepped up to the challenge and scored four unanswered goals to secure the victory. Adam Zukowski and Nolan Gifford had two goals each. The other three goals came from Quinn Appert, Quinn Walsh, and Sam Sheridan.
With this win, the Spartans move to 3-5 and hope to add another win to their record on Thursday, December 20 against Bloomington Kennedy. Puck drops at 7 p.m. at Bloomington Ice Garden -- Go Spartans!
