The Spartan track and field team competed at True Team at St. Croix Lutheran Academy on May 8. SPA went up against stiff competition from 11 other area schools and had several standout individual and relay performances. Freshman Rashmi Raveendran continued to impress, finishing in first place in the 300 intermediate hurdles. Sophomore Tommy Allen ran one of the most exciting races of the season in the 800m, winning the race with a personal record of 2:05. Senior captain Jak Kinsella also ran a strong 800, finishing with a season-best time of 2:13. Junior thrower Annie Kristal had a strong meet, setting a season personal record discus throw of 80 feet 7 inches. Finally, distance runners Maggie Hlavka '19, Becca Richman '23, and Jonah Spencer '19 all saw major improvements in their mile times. Jonah had an especially big day, as he competed in both the mile and the two-mile.
Next week, the Spartans will head to Providence Academy for the IMAC Conference Meet.
