Boy's soccer played its first official game on Thursday, August 24 against Humboldt Sr. High School at the Hawk's home field.
The team started strong in the first half with a goal from Adam Zukowski '19. Unfortunately, it was called offsides by the line judge. Throughout the second half, both teams had good chances but Spartan goalkeeper Ryan Moore '19 kept the Hawks scoreless. Junior captain Eric Lagos had a great chance with 10 seconds left on the clock when he received a ball inside the box but his shot drifted just wide of the goal. With the score 0-0 at the end of regulation time, the teams entered into overtime for two five-minute periods. Neither team was able to score in either overtime period and the game ended in a tie.
