An independent day school serving grades PK-12 | St. Paul, MN

Arts

The arts are an important piece of day-to-day life in the Middle School. Music, theater, and the studio arts are woven into both the curriculum and co-curricular life.
Music

Every Middle School student takes a music class every day in the ensemble of their choosing (band, orchestra, or choir) and all students perform in two concerts each year. Private music lessons are also available through the school through instruction.

Visual Arts

The Grade 6 visual art course covers various media and techniques; Grade 7 visual art courses introduce two-dimensional art techniques and three-dimensional ceramics. In Grade 8, students may opt to take elective courses in two and three-dimensional art.

Theater

The required Grade 6 and 7 drama classes prepare students for later electives in Grade 8, including acting, production and performance, and scriptwriting. The Middle School's three yearly theatrical productions are popular co-curricular activities, and auditions are open to all students.
