Speaker Series

The St. Paul Academy and Summit School Alumni/ae Council created the Speaker Series in 2014 to showcase the wide-ranging achievements and expertise of SPA alumni/ae. Each Speaker Series event features a program around an individual or a panel with expertise in a particular field, and is followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Speaker Series events are lively and interactive, and provide alumni/ae, parents, and friends of SPA an opportunity to learn about a new topic, engage in interesting conversation, and connect and network with each other. All SPA alumni/ae, parents, friends and their guests are welcome to attend. The Alumni/ae Council is looking forward to producing the ninth year of the Speaker Series during the 2023-2024 academic year. Visit the Speaker Series Archives to learn about past Speaker Series events.

Instilling A Love of Art: A Conversation with Hazel Belvo and the Students She Inspired

The Alumni/ae Council invites the SPA community to attend this Spring Speaker Series event featuring former faculty member and artist Hazel Belvo as she is joined by architect John Larsen '87, artist Anne Baker Parker '74, and artist Peter Zelle '83 as they discuss how Hazel inspired them to pursue their chosen careers in the arts. Moderated by Walt Lehmann '81, Managing Partner at Lehmann PLC, the program will highlight Hazel's time at SPA as she designed and developed the fine arts program during her 17 year tenure and how Hazel's influence helped to develop an interest in the arts and a future in the industry for these alumni/ae.
