Debate

Debate students develop the fundamental skills of public speaking, argumentation, research, writing, and critical reasoning.  By developing their own cases for both sides of a debate, students focus on persuasive public speaking and rely on their own research and skills to establish their claims. Students develop their arguments in class and, during the fall semester, compete against students from other schools. Topics change regularly throughout the season, enabling students to grapple with current events and explore arguments for a variety of topics.
