Applying to SPA

Step 1: Submit an Admission Inquiry & Request a Packet

The first step is to submit an inquiry and request an Admission Information Packet that you will receive by mail. We invite you to read through all of the material in the packet, which includes information about SPA's curriculum, programs, and culture.

Step 3: Attend an Open House or Event

We hope you’ll join us for an upcoming Open House or Admissions event! Please visit our Events & Deadlines page for the latest opportunities.

If events have already passed, we'd still love to see you! Please contact our office to schedule a tour or visit day.

Step 4: Follow Your Grade-Specific Application Guidelines

When applying to SPA, different grades have specific application guidelines. Please see below for details.

Step 5: Testing and Assessment

Testing and assessment varies by grade level (see below). Details and instructions for scheduling testing will be provided in your admission portal as part of the application process.

PreKindergarten: Applicants will take part in a one-on-one assessment with a member of our enrollment team. 

Kindergarten: Applicants will participate in a one-on-one assessment with a member of our Enrollment Team or Lower School Leadership Team. This assessment will take place during the playgroup on a weekday or Saturday.

Grades 1-5: Applicants will take a one-on-one assessment with a member of the enrollment team. This assessment includes reading comprehension and math skills. 

Grades 6-12: Applicants will take the CTP5 admission tests to assess verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, and quantitative reasoning skills.  Additionally, students will be asked to complete a writing sample.

Students that need accommodations due to a documented learning difference or other health impairment should contact Logan Eagen.  

Step 6: Complete the Application

The sixth and final step is to complete your application. To do so, please create a Parent Portal admissions account. By creating an account, you will be able to begin your child's application and get started with the admission process. After completing the application, you can return to the portal to check your progress with the admission checklist.

Deadline: The application deadline for the 2026-2027 school year is February 1, 2026. Admission decisions will be released March 27, 2026.

Applications are accepted on a rolling and space-available basis after February 1. Decisions are released in a timely manner once an application is complete.
