Upper School spring musical earns 21 Hennepin Arts Spotlight Awards

SPA's production of Hadestown (teen edition), this year's Upper School spring musical, is the recipient of 21 awards from the Hennepin Art's Spotlight Program. 

Spotlight is an awards program for high school theater. Throughout the school year, Spotlight evaluators watch participating high schools' theatrical performances and award honors to selected productions, ensembles, and individuals. Award winners are then invited to participate in a culminating showcase in early June. 

The ensemble Spotlight Awards for Hadestown include:

  • Achievement in Musical Theatre: Honorable Mention
  • Overall Technical Production: Honorable Mention
  • Overall Performance: Outstanding
  • Ensemble Performance: Honorable Mention
  • Ensemble Acting Performance: Honorable Mention
  • Ensemble Vocal Performance: Outstanding
  • Ensemble Dance Performance: Honorable Mention
  • Run Crew: Honorable Mention
  • Sound Crew: Honorable Mention

The individual Spotlight Awards for Hadestown include:

  • Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role: Maddie Pierce '25
  • Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role: Eleanor Chung Putaski '25 and William Hanna '26
  • Outstanding in Technical Leadership: Eli Perry '27 and Belle Weng '25
  • Honorable Mention in a Leading Role: Coda Wilson '25
  • Honorable Mention Performance in a Supporting Role: Aarushi Bahadur '25 and Kate Tuttle '28
  • Honorable Mention Performance in Technical Leadership: Tarq Johnson '28 and Desmond Rubenstein '26
