Spartan debate makes postseason run; pair qualifies for Nationals

Spartan Debate began postseason competitions in December 2020 and, thus far, the team has seen exceptional results. In the JV/Novice State Tournament on December 4, the Spartans had five pairs "break" to elimination rounds. Congrats to:

Spartan Debate also competed in the Districts Tournament last weekend where they were excited to see Spencer Burris-Brown '22 and Jack Hlavka '22 qualify to Nationals for the second year in a row. The pair earned their spot by placing first in the district with an impressive 11 of 12 ballots. Congratulations to all of the SPA student-debaters who competed in the tournament: Niko Liepins '21, Sam Zelazo '22, Luka Shaker-Check '21, Liam Lynch '21, Henry Hoeglund '21, Michael Moran '21, Noa Gross '22, Rashmi Raveendran '21, Spencer Burris-Brown '22, and Jack Hlavka '22.

The SPA's next postseason competition is Sections which will take place in January 2021. Go Spartans!
