Middle School competes in virtual American Mathematics Competition

Each November, middle school students around the country compete in the American Mathematics Competition 8 (AMC 8) and this year, students continued the tradition with one change: the contest was administered virtually. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple-choice middle school mathematics exam designed to promote problem-solving skills and enthusiasm towards mathematics.

SPA had 29 students participate in the exam this fall. Congratulations to the Middle School's top three scorers: Arlo Zirps '25, Jack Hickman '26, and Theo Su '25, respectively. SPA also had five students tie for fourth place, just one point behind Theo.

Congratulations to all who participated!
