Maddy Breton '20 and Zach Dyar '20 place in the Top 3 of the Minnesota Supreme Court Historical Society's essay contest

Each year, the Minnesota Supreme Court Historical Society sponsors the Mondale-Quie Essay Contest. The competition is open to Minnesota high school juniors and seniors, and participating students have an opportunity to receive up to $1,000 in scholarship money as they examine the role of the judiciary in our society.

In the wake of this year's 100th anniversary of its ratification, students were asked to analyze the 19th Amendment and to give their opinion on whether the right to vote should be expanded further. Students in SPA's History of Law class participated in the writing contest and overall, Maddy Breton '20 earned second place and Zach Dyar '20 took third place.
