The 2022 Iris Art + Lit magazine has been selected as a 2022 Pacemaker Finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA). This is the fourth time SPA's magazine has been named a finalist in this prestigious competition.
The Pacemaker is a program of the NSPA and is known as "the Pulitzer Prize" of student journalism. Iris was one of only 15 art and literature magazines to be selected as Pacemaker Finalists this year. It was also the only Minnesota magazine to be honored.
“The literary arts magazines selected by the judges reflect both classic and contemporary formats,” Gary Lundgren, NSPA associate director said of this year's entries in a press statement. “The quality of the art, photography, poetry, and prose showcased on the pages of these magazines is amazing.”
This year's six magazine Pacemaker winners will be announced at the 2023 JEA/NSPA National Convention in San Francisco on April 22. Please join us in congratulating Co-Editors-in-Chief Eliza Farley '24 and Poppy Ploen '24.
