Girls' Nordic Skiing wins IMAC Championship, Paloma Good '27 named individual Conference Champ

Congratulations to SPA's girls' nordic ski team which won the IMAC Conference Championship on Wednesday, January 31 at Theodore Wirth Park.

The victory was a true team effort for the Spartans who secured first place in the relay events after sweeping the top three spots on the podium. SPA was led by Paloma Good '27 who placed first and was also named the 2024 Girls' IMAC Champion! Other scoring skiers in the top 10 included Taylor Barkwell '25 in 2nd place, Maren Overgaard '26 in 3rd place, Sophie Kannapiran '28 in 4th place, and Alyda Overgaard '28 in 8th place.

In the team relays, SPA captured first place in the girls' events and third place in the boys' event. Congratulations to the teams of Eleanor Mody '27/Inga Wing '25 and Aldegundo Brenneman '27/Thomas Kovarik '25. See the full results here.

“The conditions and wax were amazing for the morning classic time trial, but the snow exponentially deteriorated throughout the day," says Head Coach Max Lundgren. "I was so pleased with the pace the girls relay kept through the sludge and the mental and physical perseverance of all skiers in the afternoon. We are excited to build on this in preparation for the section meet."

Go Spartans!
