Girls' Swimming and Diving

After an outstanding Section performance where she earned first place with a final score of 367.95, diver Katherine Welsh '22 competed in the state diving tournament on Saturday, November 19. In a very competitive field, Katherine finished in the top ten with a score of 359.05, good for 6th overall. Congratulations, Katherine!

Cross Country

On November 6th, Taylor Barkwell '25 represented SPA at St. Olaf College in the State cross country meet. Taylor was extremely competitive, running 20:36 for 60th place overall. Congratulations, Taylor!

Football 

The SMB Wolfpack, a cooperative program between SPA, Minnehaha Academy, and The Blake School, faced off in the section championship against #1-seeded Holy Angels for the section title and the chance to play in the Minnesota State football tournament. The team fought extremely hard, but fell 42-6 to the Stars. The Wolfpack had another solid season, finishing 6-4 overall.

Boys' Soccer

Spartan boys' soccer earned the #2 seed in Section 3A and defeated Twin Cities Academy 4-1 in the Quarterfinal round of Sections on October 14th. The team continued their strong play with a 2-0 section semifinal victory over Hiawatha Collegiate on October 16th. The Spartans then faced off against St. Paul Humboldt in the section final on Tuesday, October 19th. SPA played extremely well but ultimately fell 1-0 to Humboldt. The team had a great season, finishing 9-3-4 overall.

The following Spartans were awarded All-State, All-Conference, and All-Conference Honorable Mention Honors:

All-State: Cooper Bollinger Danielson '23, Gregory Forsberg '22, and Leo Larson '22

All-Conference: Cooper Bollinger Danielson '23, Mac Brown '22, Gregory Forsberg '22, Leo Larson '22, and Zekiah Juliusson '22

All-Conference Honorable Mention: Yash Kshirsagar '23 and Ezra Straub '25


Girls' Soccer

Spartan girls' soccer earned the #2 seed in the Section 3A Tournament and opened their post-season with a dominant 8-0 victory over St. Paul Humboldt on October 14th. The team then faced off against the #3 seed in Minnehaha Academy in the semifinal round on Saturday, October 16th. The team fought extremely hard but ultimately fell 3-0 to the Redhawks. The team had a spectacular season, finishing 15-2-1 overall.

Like the boys' team the following Spartans were awarded All-State, All-Conference, and All-Conference Honorable Mention Honors:

All-State: Mia Hofmann '22, Sawyer Bollinger Danielson '25, and Naomi Straub '22

All-Conference: Sawyer Bollinger Danielson '25, Heidi Deuel '23, Andrea Gist '22, Mia Hofmann '22, Naomi Straub '22, and Annie Zhang '25

All-Conference Honorable Mention: Maryeva Gonzalez '23 and Aurelia Meza '24


Girls' Tennis

Girls' tennis competed in their Section 4A match on Wednesday, October 13th. As a team, they finished 4th overall and in individual competition, Maggie Fields '22 and Elizabeth Trevathan '22 faced off for third place, with Maggie winning in a hard-fought match.

Volleyball

Spartan volleyball competed in their first section round game on Thursday, October 28th against St. Agnes. The Spartans showed incredible fight and discipline taking St. Agnes to five sets before falling 14-16 in the final frame.
