2022 Iris: Art + Lit magazine: "Hue" earns Pacemaker Award from the National Scholastic Press Association

"Hue" the 2022 Iris: Art + Lit magazine has earned a Pacemaker award from the National Scholastic Press Association. The NSPA Pacemaker is the preeminent award in scholastic press, and "Hue" was one of only six literary art magazines in the country to receive this prestigious award. Gary Lundgren, associate director and coordinator of the Pacemaker competition said in the press release that “the quality of the art, photography, poetry, and prose showcased on the pages of these magazines is amazing."

Director of Publications Kathryn Campbell shared that "the submissions we receive from the English and Fine Arts departments showcase our invested, curious students who care deeply about how they present their ideas and creativity, and represent just a snapshot of the work supported by a faculty that is intensely dedicated to our craft and our kids; adding every year’s magazine becomes its own work of art. Guiding the creative process of student editor collaboration for theme development and production planning is intense (and so much fun), and the judges’ celebration of our Iris staff’s work is deeply rewarding."

Please join us in congratulating our students and co-Editors in Chief Eliza Farley '24 and Poppy Ploen '24, along with last year's staff.
