Upper School one-act earns third place in Sub-Sections; one-act showcase this weekend

On Saturday, January 25, SPA competed in the MSHSL One-Act Play Sub-Section competition and earned third place for their performance Aliens vs Cheerleaders. Despite not advancing to the next section competition, the cast and crew had their best performance to date and the audience reactions included roaring laughter, cheers, and a standing ovation.

The cast and crew will now perform their full one-act showcase for the SPA community on Friday, January 31. Join us in the Huss Center for the Performing Arts from 7-9 p.m. for performances of Aliens vs. Cheerleaders, Guillotine, O, What a Tangled Web, Kingdom of the Spider, and Swing of the Sea. One-Acts are directed and led by members of the senior class who apply for the position and once chosen, pick out scripts, audition and cast their characters, design and create a set and costume ensemble, and rehearse/block the entirety of their show. The faculty advisor watches several rehearsals to give feedback/advice, but what you see is the incredible work of the student-directors and actors.

We hope you are able to join us for the Upper School One-Acts!
