SPA qualifies two students for State Poetry Out Loud competition

Congratulations to Annika Brelsford '22 and Gavin Kimmel '21 who represented SPA at the regional Poetry Out Loud regional competition on February 10 and advanced to the State Finals! This is the first time SPA has qualified two students for the state competition.

Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of poetry by offering free materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high school students across the country. Since 2005, Poetry Out Loud has grown to reach more than 3.8 million students and 60,000 teachers from 16,000 schools. Poetry Out Loud is a partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, Poetry Foundation, and the state and jurisdictional arts agencies. Learn more on the Minnesota State Arts Board website.

The Minnesota 2020 Poetry Out Loud State Competition will take place on Tuesday, February 25 at Minnesota State University, Mankato from 12:30-6:00 p.m. Good luck, Gavin and Annika!
