Middle School student Eliza Farley '24 has qualified to compete in the 2020 Minnesota National Geographic State Geography Bee after scoring in the Top-100 on the qualifying exam. The state contest will be held at Metropolitan State University on March 27, 2020.
This is the second level of the National Geographic Bee competition. School Bees were held over the last two months around the state to determine each school champion and those winners then took a qualifying test, which they submitted to the National Geographic Society. The National Geographic Society then invited up to 100 of the top-scoring students in each state to compete in the state Bees. Read more about SPA's School Bee on SPA News.
Good luck to Eliza at the State Bee! If she wins, she will advance to the National Geographic GeoBee Championship, which will be held May 18–21 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C., and champions will have the chance to compete for cash awards and college scholarships.
