Cross country earns top-finishes at State Meet

On Saturday, November 2, the Spartan girls' cross country team and Michael Moran '21 traveled to Northfield, MN for the Class A State Cross Country Meet. 

Seventh-graders Sawyer Bollinger-Danielson and Taylor Barkwell led the way for the girls' team, finishing in 32nd and 36th place, respectively. Sawyer and Taylor also placed in the top 5 among seventh graders, and Taylor earned a personal best time to finish out the season. Other members of the girls' team included Becca Richman '23 (152nd place, personal best time), Violet Benson '24 (158th place), Ingrid Johnson '24 (161st place), Annie Hlavka '24 (166th place), Mia Schubert '21 (170th place), and Isabel Toghramadjian and Addie Morrisette (alternates). This was the girls' first time qualifying for State as a team since 2014.

Junior captain Michael Moran represented the boys' team at State and also had an exceptional day of running. Michael capped off the year with his best performance to date, running a time of 16:44 and finishing in 32nd place overall.
