Our guest speaker is a financial aid director from an area college, providing insight and answering questions on financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Event is sponsored jointly by SPA and Mounds Park Academy, hosted at MPA this year. Any Upper School parent welcome to attend, especially parents of seniors and juniors.
Preparing to be a College Athlete: Two part program in early January . Panel of college coaches, Wednesday evening, January 9, 7-8:30 p.m. Bigelow Commons, and Panel of SPA alumni college student-athletes, Friday morning, January 11, 9:45-10:30 a.m.
Students and parents grade 9-11 are invited to the Wednesday evening panel to hear college coaches from both Division I and Division III athletic programs offer advice and strategy for aspiring college-bound student athletes. Topics include understanding the recruitment process and communicating with college coaches. On Friday morning, a panel of SPA alumni who are college student-athletes will share their perspective and experiences as student athletes with interested current SPA students.
Sophomore Parent College Counseling Preview: Thursday, February 7, 2013, 7-8:00 p.m., Bigelow Commons.
A preview of the College Counseling program during junior and senior years, plus information on timely topics for sophomores, including Subject Tests and AP Exams and summer opportunities. Same night as evening portion of Sophomore Class Retreat for students, which also ends at 8:00 p.m.
