Girls' soccer moves to 5-1 with big conference win over Minnehaha
Posted 09/14/2017 09:50AM

SPA girls' soccer continued its undefeated conference play with a 3-1 victory over rival Minnehaha Academy on Monday, September 11. SPA and Minnehaha played a scoreless first half with SPA having the better of both shots on goal and possession. Libby Woodson's '18 brilliant shot from distance opened the scoring for the Spartans early in the second half.  Within the next minute of play, Bailey Donovan '19 put the Spartans up 2-0 with her first varsity goal. Hayley Hoffmann '18 added the Spartans last go to make it 3-0 by beating the Minnehaha keeper and placing the ball into the well earned empty net. In the final minute, Minnehaha scored but it wouldn't be enough to take down the dominant Spartans.

Next up: SPA girls' soccer (5-1) will travel to Blake on Wednesday, September 13 for a 7 p.m. conference showdown. Good luck, Spartans!
