Since the start of the season on April 12, the boys' varsity golf team has seen impressive success on the green.
Dan Kovarik, the team's co-head coach, reports that the boys' win in the Conference 9-Hole Tournament on April 26 was particularly impressive. Kovarik reports that the tournament was a "rock-solid" performance by the entire team, resulting in a first-place finish with a 154 team score, narrowly beating DeLaSalle by one stroke. This is the first time the team SPA team has won the Conference 9 Hole Tournament.
Coach Kovarik complimented the team on their strong performance--"that's the lowest team score an SPA team has seen in quite a while," he says--and also on their team spirit. "The behavior, attitude, and competitive spirit displayed by these young men should be applauded by the entire SPA community," Kavorik says.
Congratulations to the team and go Spartans!
