K–12 DRAMA PROGRAM
The drama program stresses the importance of trust, access to feelings, honesty, concern for others, and ongoing emotional and creative growth in a supportive atmosphere. Auditions for plays are as low-pressure as possible, functioning essentially as acting workshops in which beginners learn from the example of more experienced peers as well as from coaching from directors. Rehearsals stress pooling of creative ideas, peer interaction, and working harmoniously toward group and personal goals. We emphasize process as well as final product as a way of ensuring that all our students have enriching, positive, and memorable experiences.
